CYBERUPDATER PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: 26 September 2026

CyberUpdater is designed to help you keep track of important computer security protections in a simple, privacy-conscious way.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the CyberUpdater Chrome extension stores, what it does not collect, and how information may be handled when you use the CyberUpdater website, checkout or support services.

1. THE CYBERUPDATER EXTENSION

CyberUpdater is a guided security-maintenance tool.

The extension does not scan your computer, files or documents.

It does not inspect your browsing history.

It does not read your passwords.

It does not automatically change your computer settings.

You decide what to check and confirm the status of each protection yourself.

2. INFORMATION STORED BY THE EXTENSION

CyberUpdater stores information locally in your Chrome browser so it can remember your progress.

This may include:

• Which protections you have checked

• Whether a protection is Current or Action Needed

• The date a protection was checked

• Your Mac or Windows instruction preference

• When a protection is due for review

This information is used only to provide CyberUpdater's protection-status and review features.

3. WHERE EXTENSION DATA IS STORED

CyberUpdater's protection-status information is stored locally in Chrome on your device.

The current CyberUpdater extension does not send this protection-status information to a CyberUpdater server.

CyberUpdater does not sell this local extension data.

4. MAC AND WINDOWS DETECTION

CyberUpdater uses Chrome platform information to determine whether you are using Mac or Windows so it can show OS-specific instructions where settings differ. You can also change the instruction preference manually. This information is used only to provide the relevant guidance.

5. WHAT CYBERUPDATER DOES NOT DO

The CyberUpdater extension does not:

• Scan your files

• Scan your computer for malware

6. CHROME PERMISSIONS

CyberUpdater uses only the Chrome permissions needed to provide its features.

Local browser storage is used to remember your protection status, dates and preferences.

CyberUpdater does not request broad access to the websites you visit in order to provide its current functionality.

The CyberUpdater website and sales pages are provided using SamCart.

When you visit the website, SamCart may process technical information such as browser, device, IP address, page activity and cookies as part of operating its service.

9. COOKIES AND WEBSITE TECHNOLOGIES

The CyberUpdater extension does not use cookies to track your browsing activity.

The CyberUpdater website and checkout may use cookies and similar technologies provided by SamCart or other service providers for functions such as page operation, security, checkout and website analytics.

These website technologies are separate from the locally stored CyberUpdater extension data.

10. SHARING OF INFORMATION

CyberUpdater does not sell your locally stored extension data.

Information associated with website purchases or support may be processed by service providers where necessary to operate the website, process payments, complete transactions or provide support.

These providers may include SamCart and the payment processor used for checkout.

11. DATA RETENTION

Protection-status information stored by the CyberUpdater extension remains locally in Chrome until it is changed, cleared or the extension's stored data is removed.

Order and support information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide support, maintain transaction records, comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.

12. YOUR CHOICES

You control the information recorded inside CyberUpdater.

You can update the status of a protection at any time.

You can remove locally stored extension information by clearing the extension's stored data or uninstalling CyberUpdater.

You may contact us regarding personal information associated with a purchase or support request.

13. CHROME WEB STORE USER DATA

CyberUpdater uses Chrome APIs and permissions only as necessary to provide its user-facing functionality.

Information handled by the extension is not used for advertising, profiling or unrelated purposes.

CyberUpdater limits its use of extension data to providing and improving CyberUpdater's stated functionality.

14. CHILDREN

CyberUpdater is not designed specifically for children and we do not knowingly use the extension to collect personal information from children.
